Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Occupational Health & Hygiene Expert course is designed to provide in-depth expertise in managing workplace health risks through anticipation, identification, evaluation, and control of occupational hazards. The course covers chemical, biological, physical, ergonomic, and psychosocial risk factors; occupational health surveillance; exposure assessment and monitoring; health risk assessments; and implementation of control measures such as engineering solutions, administrative controls, and use of PPE.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Occupational Health and Hygiene: Definition and scope of occupational health and hygiene, Importance of protecting worker health and organizational benefits, Key roles and responsibilities of an Occupational Health & Hygiene Expert, Occupational health hazards and risk categories, Legal and regulatory frameworks (OSHA, ILO, ISO 45001), Principles of hazard anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control.

Module 2: Identification and Evaluation of Workplace Hazards: Types of hazards: chemical, biological, physical, ergonomic, psychological, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Task Risk Assessment (TRA), and exposure profiling, Exposure routes and toxicology basics relevant to occupational settings, Use of MSDS/SDS and hazard classification systems (GHS), Exposure monitoring strategies and sampling techniques, Understanding Threshold Limit Values (TLVs), PELs, and BEIs.

Module 3: Workplace Exposure Monitoring and Risk Assessment: Air quality monitoring: dust, fumes, vapors, gases, Indoor environmental quality: lighting, noise, thermal comfort, humidity, Biological sampling and allergen exposure evaluation, Ergonomic risk assessments and anthropometric measurements, Noise and vibration assessments with relevant instruments, Risk matrix, scoring methods, and prioritization models.

Module 4: Hazard Control Strategies and Occupational Health Programs: Hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, PPE selection, maintenance, and training for employees, Workplace health promotion and disease prevention programs, Design and evaluation of ventilation and containment systems, Emergency preparedness for chemical and biological incidents, Integration of hygiene controls into daily operations.

Module 5: Health Surveillance and Medical Monitoring: Pre-placement and periodic medical examinations, Early detection of occupational illnesses and recordkeeping, Biological monitoring and interpretation of results, Return-to-work assessments and occupational rehabilitation, Mental health awareness and stress management strategies, Confidentiality, ethics, and compliance in medical data handling.

Module 6: Audit, Training, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement: Conducting hygiene audits and compliance inspections, Training strategies for awareness and behavior change, Reporting structure: documentation, analysis, and corrective actions, Communication with management and external regulatory bodies, Developing OHMS (Occupational Health Management Systems), Performance review and continuous improvement through KPIs and benchmarking.

  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
