Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/TL/COLS/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Offshore Logistics Specialist course is designed to equip participants with specialized knowledge and practical skills for planning, executing, and managing logistics activities in offshore environments such as oil rigs, wind farms, and marine platforms. The course covers offshore supply chain management, vessel and helicopter coordination, cargo and equipment handling, inventory control, emergency response planning, health and safety standards (e.g., OPITO, IMO), and environmental regulations. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Offshore Logistics and Industry Overview: Overview of offshore logistics in oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors, Roles and responsibilities of an Offshore Logistics Specialist, Key stakeholders and supply chain participants, Offshore facility types: platforms, rigs, FPSOs, Regulatory framework and safety standards (OSHA, IMO, API), Industry challenges and risk factors.

Module 2: Offshore Transportation and Supply Chain Management: Types of offshore transport: helicopters, supply vessels, crew boats, and pipelines, Planning and scheduling of logistics movements, Coordination with maritime and aviation authorities, Load planning and cargo securing for offshore transfer, Fuel, equipment, and material supply chain management, Emergency logistics and contingency planning.

Module 3: Inventory and Warehouse Management for Offshore Operations: Inventory control techniques specific to offshore requirements, Storage solutions onshore and offshore, Handling and storage of hazardous materials and specialized equipment, Stock replenishment strategies and demand forecasting, Use of inventory management software and technologies, Documentation and tracking of inventory movements.

Module 4: Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Offshore safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE), Hazard identification and risk assessment in offshore logistics, Environmental protection regulations and waste management, Emergency response and evacuation procedures, Training and competency requirements, Auditing and compliance monitoring.

Module 5: Communication and Coordination in Offshore Logistics: Effective communication channels between offshore and onshore teams, Coordination with operators, contractors, and regulatory bodies, Use of digital communication tools and tracking systems, Reporting and documentation standards, Managing operational disruptions and incident communication, Stakeholder relationship management.

Module 6: Technology and Continuous Improvement in Offshore Logistics: Emerging technologies: drones, IoT, AI for offshore logistics optimization, Data analytics for supply chain efficiency and decision-making, Automation and remote monitoring systems, Sustainability and cost control initiatives, Capstone project: design an optimized offshore logistics plan for a multi-platform operation.
