Course Name: Certified Oil & Gas Logistics Specialist

Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/TL/COGLS/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Oil & Gas Logistics Specialist course is designed to equip participants with specialized skills and industry-specific knowledge required to handle complex logistics in upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas operations. The course covers supply chain planning, rig move coordination, offshore and onshore transportation, hazardous materials (HAZMAT) handling, customs clearance, procurement logistics, and warehouse operations. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Oil & Gas Logistics Operations: Overview of upstream, midstream, and downstream logistics, Role of logistics in exploration, drilling, production, and distribution, Supply chain structure in the oil & gas industry, Key assets: rigs, pipelines, refineries, storage terminals, Stakeholders involved: operators, suppliers, contractors, regulators, Importance of safety, reliability, and efficiency in oil & gas logistics.

Module 2: Transportation and Multimodal Logistics in Oil & Gas: Modes of transport: pipeline, tanker, truck, rail, and air freight, Logistics planning for offshore and remote operations, Transporting hazardous and oversized cargo safely, Route planning, customs clearance, and regulatory permits, Specialized transport: cryogenic tanks, drilling equipment, subsea systems, Risk management and emergency response during transportation.

Module 3: Materials Handling, Warehousing, and Inventory Control: Material classification: bulk materials, tubulars, chemicals, tools, Setting up and operating oilfield warehouses and storage yards, Inventory control systems and Just-In-Time delivery strategies, Material tracking using barcodes, RFID, and IoT sensors, Hazardous material handling and regulatory compliance (MSDS, ADR, IMDG), Coordination with drilling, production, and maintenance teams.

Module 4: Procurement, Contracting, and Supplier Coordination: Strategic sourcing and global procurement in oil & gas logistics, Vendor qualification, registration, and HSE compliance, Tendering, contract negotiation, and service-level agreements, Expediting and follow-up for critical material delivery, Coordination between procurement, engineering, and logistics teams, Local content and in-country value (ICV) management in procurement.

Module 5: HSE, Compliance, and Risk Management in Oil & Gas Logistics: Understanding HSE requirements in oil & gas transport and storage, Managing risks related to flammable, explosive, and toxic cargo, Environmental compliance and spill response procedures, Regulatory standards: OGP, ISO, OSHA, IMO, IATA, Audits, inspections, and incident reporting procedures, Emergency logistics response and business continuity planning.

Module 6: Digitalization, Automation, and Strategic Planning: Digital tools in oil & gas logistics: ERP, SCM, WMS, TMS, Real-time visibility, satellite tracking, and predictive maintenance, Automation in material movement, inventory, and documentation, Data analytics for logistics performance and cost optimization, Strategic planning and logistics KPIs in project execution, Case studies on oil & gas logistics failures and success strategies.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
