Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The objective of the Certified Painting & Decorating Specialist course is to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the preparation, application, and finishing of paints and decorative coatings on various surfaces. The course covers surface assessment, cleaning, priming, paint types, application methods, color theory, decorative techniques, and safety practices. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Painting and Decorating: Overview of painting and decorating trade, Roles and responsibilities of a painting specialist, Types of paint and coatings, Basic decorating terminology, Understanding color theory and design principles, Safety practices in painting work.

Module 2: Surface Preparation: Assessment of surfaces (wood, metal, plaster, drywall), Cleaning and repairing surfaces, Removing old paint and coatings, Sanding and smoothing techniques, Priming and sealing surfaces, Moisture and mold treatment.

Module 3: Painting Materials and Tools: Types of paints (oil-based, water-based, epoxy), Brushes, rollers, spray equipment, Tapes and masking materials, Paint additives and primers, Maintenance and cleaning of tools.

Module 4: Painting and Decorating Techniques: Application methods (brush, roller, spray), Decorative finishes and textures, Wall coverings and wallpapers, Stenciling and murals, Specialty coatings (fireproof, waterproof), Ensuring uniformity and quality.

Module 5: Quality Control and Finishing: Inspection of painted surfaces, Correcting defects and imperfections, Drying and curing times, Protective coatings and varnishes, Cleanup and waste disposal, Final presentation and customer satisfaction.

Module 6: Safety and Environmental Considerations: Personal protective equipment (PPE), Handling and storage of hazardous materials, Ventilation and respiratory protection, Waste management and environmental regulations, Risk assessment and accident prevention, Sustainable and eco-friendly painting practices.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
