Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CPI/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The objective of the Certified Plumbing Installer course is to provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge needed to install plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The course covers the installation of water supply lines, drainage and venting systems, fixtures, appliances, and gas piping, with an emphasis on following plumbing codes, safety standards, and best practices. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Plumbing Installation: Overview of plumbing systems and components, Roles and responsibilities of a plumbing installer, Basic plumbing terminology, Types of plumbing materials and tools, Safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE), Understanding plumbing codes and regulations.

Module 2: Water Supply Systems: Water source and distribution systems, Pipe types and sizing for water supply, Installation of valves, faucets, and fixtures, Water pressure and flow considerations, Backflow prevention devices, Testing and troubleshooting water supply systems.

Module 3: Drainage and Waste Systems: Sanitary drainage system components, Installation of drain, waste, and vent piping, Sizing and slope requirements, Connection of plumbing fixtures to drainage, Preventing clogs and backups, Inspection and testing of drainage systems.

Module 4: Installation of Fixtures and Appliances: Installing sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and showers, Water heater installation and connections, Installation of dishwashers and washing machines, Gas line connections for appliances, Proper sealing and waterproofing, Final testing and commissioning of fixtures.

Module 5: Pipe Joining and Fitting Techniques: Cutting, threading, and bending pipes, Joining methods (soldering, gluing, mechanical fittings), Use of tools and equipment for pipe assembly, Leak detection and repair, Working with copper, PVC, PEX, and steel pipes, Maintaining quality and safety standards.

Module 6: Jobsite Safety and Best Practices: Worksite hazard identification and mitigation, Safe handling of tools and materials, Use of PPE and safety equipment, Fire safety and confined space awareness, Communication and teamwork on site, Documentation and compliance with safety regulations.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
