Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Portrait Artist course is designed to develop students’ proficiency in creating realistic and expressive portraits. The course covers fundamental principles such as anatomy of the face, proportions, shading, color mixing, and the use of various artistic media like graphite, charcoal, pastels, and paint. Students will learn to capture likeness, emotion, and character through observation and technical skill. Emphasis is placed on mastering facial features, skin tones, lighting, and texture to create lifelike and compelling portraits.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Basics of Portrait Art: Introduction to portraiture, Understanding facial proportions, Anatomy of the head and neck, Elements of portrait composition, Tools and materials for portrait drawing, Color theory in portraiture.

Module 2: Drawing Techniques for Portraits: Basic sketching and contour drawing, Shading and value techniques, Capturing likeness and expression, Drawing facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, ears), Using charcoal, graphite, and ink, Creating texture and detail in skin and hair.

Module 3: Painting Portraits: Introduction to portrait painting mediums, Color mixing for skin tones, Layering and glazing techniques, Working with light and shadow, Capturing mood and personality, Brushwork and texture techniques.

Module 4: Advanced Facial Anatomy and Expressions: Muscles of facial expression, Understanding bone structure, Rendering age and character, Portraying emotions and gestures, Studying different face shapes and types, Techniques for dynamic and lifelike portraits.

Module 5: Composition and Style in Portraiture: Backgrounds and settings, Using lighting for dramatic effect, Creating focal points and balance, Incorporating clothing and accessories, Exploring different portrait styles (realism, impressionism, abstract), Developing a personal artistic style.

Module 6: Professional Practice and Presentation: Preparing portraits for exhibition and sale, Photographing and digitizing portraits, Portfolio building, Client communication and commission work, Marketing and branding as a portrait artist, Ethical considerations in portraiture.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
