Objective: The Certified Pre & Post Natal Exercise Specialist course is designed to equip fitness professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely design and implement exercise programs tailored for women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. The program covers physiological changes during pregnancy, exercise contraindications, benefits of physical activity, prenatal and postnatal workout techniques, pelvic floor health, and recovery strategies.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Anatomy, Physiology, and Hormonal Changes in Pregnancy: Understanding the anatomical and physiological changes during pregnancy, Hormonal fluctuations and their effects on exercise response, Trimester-specific changes and physical adaptations, Impact of pregnancy on cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal systems, Common discomforts and conditions during pregnancy (diastasis recti, pelvic pain), Role of exercise in supporting healthy maternal adaptation.

Module 2: Exercise Guidelines and Safety During Pregnancy: ACOG and WHO recommendations for prenatal exercise, Contraindications and warning signs to discontinue exercise, Intensity monitoring methods (talk test, RPE scale), Safe exercises for each trimester: cardio, strength, flexibility, Modifications for posture, joint laxity, and balance, Avoiding high-risk activities and overheating precautions.

Module 3: Prenatal Program Design and Implementation: Goal setting and client screening (PARmed-X for pregnancy), Structuring safe and effective prenatal workouts, Core and pelvic floor strengthening exercises, Breathing techniques and posture correction, Group fitness and one-on-one session planning, Lifestyle coaching: hydration, rest, and stress management.

Module 4: Postnatal Recovery and Return to Fitness: Physiological and musculoskeletal recovery after birth, Guidelines for return to exercise after vaginal or C-section delivery, Addressing postpartum issues: incontinence, fatigue, back pain, Core rehabilitation and diastasis recti management strategies, Progressive program design for strength and endurance rebuilding, Supporting mental health and body image after birth.

Module 5: Special Considerations and Medical Conditions: Training clients with high-risk pregnancies (gestational diabetes, preeclampsia), Multiple births and postpartum complications, Pelvic floor dysfunctions and referrals to specialists, Nutrition and weight management during and after pregnancy, Communication with healthcare providers and scope of practice, Cultural sensitivity and inclusive coaching for diverse clients.

Module 6: Professional Practice, Ethics, and Client Support: Building a prenatal/postnatal coaching business or service, Documentation, liability, and legal responsibilities, Empathetic communication and emotional support strategies, Creating educational materials and resources for clients, Networking with obstetricians, physiotherapists, and lactation consultants, Certification renewal, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
