Objective: The Certified Professional Health and Safety Officer course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities required to oversee occupational health and safety (OHS) systems in various sectors. The course covers workplace hazard identification, risk assessment, safety audits, emergency response planning, incident investigation, safety training, and implementation of control measures. It also includes in-depth knowledge of international and national safety standards such as ISO 45001, OSHA, and local regulatory frameworks.Β 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Principles: Fundamentals of health and safety in the workplace, Importance of a proactive safety culture and safety leadership, Legal and regulatory frameworks (OSHA, ISO 45001, national laws), Roles and responsibilities of a Professional Health and Safety Officer, Key concepts: hazard, risk, accident, incident, near-miss, Ethical responsibilities and codes of conduct in health and safety.

Module 2: Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA): Types of workplace hazards: physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, Tools and techniques for hazard identification (JSA, inspections, checklists), Risk assessment models and the use of risk matrices, Prioritizing risks and implementing control measures, Integration of HIRA into safety management systems, Documentation and communication of hazard analysis.

Module 3: Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS): Structure and elements of a Health and Safety Management System, Policy development, roles, responsibilities, and communication, Planning for hazard control, emergency preparedness, and legal compliance, Implementation and operation of HSMS in various sectors, Performance measurement, monitoring, and internal auditing, Continual improvement and management review.

Module 4: Emergency Preparedness and Incident Response: Developing and implementing emergency response plans, Types of workplace emergencies: fire, chemical spill, electrical shock, First aid procedures and the role of emergency response teams, Incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis, Conducting mock drills and simulations, Coordination with local emergency and medical services.

Module 5: Occupational Health, Hygiene, and Wellbeing: Introduction to industrial hygiene and exposure monitoring, Managing health risks from noise, vibration, dust, and chemicals, Ergonomics and its role in injury prevention and productivity, Promoting mental health and stress management at work, Implementing health surveillance and medical check-ups, Creating a workplace health and wellness strategy.

Module 6: Safety Training, Audit, and Performance Evaluation: Designing and delivering effective safety training programs, Conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns, Safety auditing techniques and inspection procedures, Identifying non-conformities and recommending corrective actions, Setting and tracking safety KPIs and performance metrics, Continuous improvement and fostering a participatory safety culture.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
