Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Railway Safety Officer course is designed to provide in-depth training in the principles and practices of railway safety management. The course covers key areas such as railway operations and infrastructure safety, track and signal inspection, rolling stock safety, level crossing and station safety, accident investigation, and emergency preparedness.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Railway Safety: Overview of railway systems and operations, Roles and responsibilities of a railway safety officer, Railway safety regulations and standards (FRA, OSHA, local laws), Types of railway hazards and risk factors, Safety culture and organizational commitment, Basic railway terminology and signaling.

Module 2: Railway Infrastructure Safety: Track and track component safety inspection, Maintenance of railway infrastructure (bridges, tunnels, crossings), Identification of defects and deterioration, Safety procedures for construction and repair work, Environmental factors affecting railway safety, Use of technology in infrastructure monitoring.

Module 3: Train Operation and Control Safety: Safe train operation practices and protocols, Train control systems and signaling, Speed regulations and compliance, Crew qualifications and training requirements, Managing human factors and fatigue, Emergency braking and stopping procedures.

Module 4: Hazardous Materials and Cargo Safety: Handling and transportation of hazardous materials by rail, Compliance with HAZMAT regulations, Proper loading, securing, and unloading of cargo, Spill response and emergency procedures, Documentation and placarding requirements, Coordination with emergency response teams.

Module 5: Accident Investigation and Reporting: Procedures for railway accident and incident investigation, Evidence collection and preservation, Root cause analysis techniques, Reporting requirements and documentation, Corrective actions and preventive measures, Communication with regulatory authorities and stakeholders.

Module 6: Emergency Preparedness and Response: Development of emergency response plans for railway incidents, Coordination with local emergency services, Evacuation procedures and passenger safety, Incident command system in railway emergencies, Training and drills for emergency situations, Post-incident review and lessons learned.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
