Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Rural Tourism and Sustainable Development: Concept and evolution of rural tourism, Importance of rural tourism for local economic and cultural development, Key stakeholders: local communities, government, NGOs, and private sector, Principles of sustainable and responsible rural tourism, Identifying and assessing rural tourism potential and assets, Global and Indian case studies of successful rural tourism initiatives.

Module 2: Product Development and Experience Design: Creating authentic rural tourism experiences: farm stays, craft workshops, cultural trails, Packaging rural tourism products for different traveler segments, Agro-tourism, eco-tourism, and heritage tourism in rural settings, Infrastructure planning: homestays, sanitation, accessibility, Integrating storytelling, folklore, and local traditions in tourism offerings, Community-based tourism models and participatory planning.

Module 3: Community Engagement and Capacity Building: Engaging local communities in tourism decision-making and benefit sharing, Training rural hosts in hospitality, communication, and hygiene standards, Promoting entrepreneurship in crafts, food, and guided tours, Conflict resolution and cultural sensitivity in rural settings, Gender empowerment and inclusive development through tourism, Role of cooperatives, SHGs, and local governance in tourism.

Module 4: Marketing and Promotion of Rural Destinations: Understanding target markets and traveler motivations for rural tourism, Branding and positioning of rural destinations, Use of digital platforms, social media, and content marketing, Collaborations with OTAs, travel bloggers, and influencers, Designing brochures, maps, itineraries, and storytelling content, Participating in tourism fairs, exhibitions, and government schemes.

Module 5: Financial Management and Policy Framework: Budgeting and cost management for rural tourism projects, Sources of funding: government grants, CSR, NGOs, crowdfunding, Overview of tourism policies and schemes (e.g., Swadesh Darshan, Hunar Se Rozgar), Legal and regulatory compliance for rural tourism operators, Monitoring and evaluation of tourism projects and community impact, Building public-private partnerships for sustainable scaling.

Module 6: Risk Management and Future Trends in Rural Tourism: Identifying and mitigating risks: seasonal fluctuations, health, natural disasters, Crisis communication and contingency planning in rural settings, Role of technology in enhancing rural tourism experiences (AR/VR, booking apps), Climate-smart and regenerative tourism practices, Trends in wellness, slow travel, and volunteer tourism in rural areas, Innovations and career pathways in rural tourism management.

  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
