Objective: The Certified Senior Yoga Trainer course is designed to prepare yoga professionals to safely and effectively teach yoga to older adults, addressing their unique physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. This course focuses on age-appropriate modifications of asanas, pranayama, and relaxation techniques to support mobility, balance, flexibility, joint health, and mental well-being.Β 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 2: Anatomy and Physiology of Aging: The physiological changes that occur with aging (musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and nervous system changes), Common age-related health issues and how they affect movement and posture, The role of flexibility, strength, and mobility in maintaining quality of life, Understanding joint health and safe movement patterns for seniors, The impact of Yoga on bone density, heart health, and mental function, How to address muscle weakness, reduced endurance, and limited range of motion.

Module 3: Senior-Friendly Yoga Postures and Modifications: Adapting Yoga poses for older adults with limited flexibility or mobility, The role of props (chairs, blocks, straps) in facilitating comfortable poses, Creating standing, seated, and reclined sequences that support balance, strength, and relaxation, Modifying traditional Yoga poses for seniors (e.g., downward dog, warrior poses), How to build sequences that target key areas such as core strength, spinal alignment, and joint mobility, Teaching modifications for specific conditions like arthritis, back pain, and balance issues.

Module 4: Breathwork and Relaxation Techniques for Seniors: Understanding the importance of breathwork for seniors in managing stress, improving lung capacity, and enhancing vitality, Tailoring Pranayama techniques for seniors (e.g., diaphragmatic breathing, Ujjayi, Nadi Shodhana), Techniques for relaxation and anxiety reduction through breathing, The connection between breath and nervous system regulation in aging, Incorporating Yoga Nidra and other deep relaxation techniques for stress relief, Encouraging mindfulness and body awareness through breathwork.
