Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Ship Agency Officer course is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to coordinate and manage the activities of ship agents acting on behalf of vessel owners and operators. The course covers port operations, vessel scheduling, documentation and customs clearance, cargo and crew handling, coordination with port authorities, pilotage, towage, and berth allocation.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Ship Agency and Maritime Operations: Overview of ship agency functions and maritime industry, Roles and responsibilities of a Ship Agency Officer, Types of vessels and shipping services, Key stakeholders: ship owners, charterers, port authorities, and service providers, Regulatory environment and international maritime conventions (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), Maritime terminology and documentation basics.

Module 2: Port and Terminal Operations: Port infrastructure and types of terminals, Procedures for vessel arrival, berthing, and departure, Coordination with port authorities, pilots, and customs, Cargo handling and stowage planning, Bunker, provisions, and supplies management, Managing port dues, tariffs, and charges.

Module 3: Documentation and Compliance: Preparation and management of ship documents: manifests, bills of lading, customs declarations, and certificates, Ensuring compliance with international, national, and local regulations, Safety and environmental compliance (ISPS Code, SOLAS, MARPOL), Crew documentation and immigration formalities, Handling hazardous and special cargo documentation, Recordkeeping and audit processes.

Module 4: Communication and Coordination: Effective communication with vessel masters, charterers, port authorities, and service providers, Handling vessel schedules, delays, and changes, Managing stakeholder expectations and conflict resolution, Use of maritime communication systems and technologies, Reporting and documentation of incidents, Emergency response coordination.

Module 5: Financial Management and Contractual Aspects: Cost estimation and budgeting for agency services, Billing, invoicing, and financial reconciliation, Understanding charter party agreements and contracts, Handling claims and disputes, Risk management and insurance considerations, Negotiation skills and supplier management.

Module 6: Technology, Safety, and Continuous Improvement: Use of port and shipping management software systems, Digital documentation and e-navigation tools, Safety management systems and audit procedures, Environmental sustainability practices in ship agency, Training and professional development, Capstone project: develop a comprehensive ship agency operational plan for a busy commercial port.
