Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Shipping Manager course is designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills to manage shipping activities across various vessel types and cargoes. The course covers fleet management, voyage planning, cargo operations, chartering principles, shipping documentation, maritime law and regulations, safety management systems, and cost control. Participants will learn about port operations coordination, crew management, environmental compliance (MARPOL, SOLAS), risk assessment, and commercial aspects of shipping. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Shipping Management: Overview of shipping industry and market structure, Roles and responsibilities of a Shipping Manager, Types of vessels and shipping services, International shipping regulations and conventions (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL), Shipping economics and market cycles, Key stakeholders: shipowners, charterers, agents, and port authorities.

Module 2: Vessel Operations and Voyage Planning: Ship operations and maintenance basics, Voyage planning and route optimization, Cargo loading, unloading, and stowage planning, Ballast operations and vessel stability, Weather routing and risk assessment, Coordination with ports and terminals.

Module 3: Chartering and Freight Management: Types of charter parties and contract terms, Freight rate negotiation and calculation, Laytime, demurrage, and dispatch, Contract administration and compliance, Claims management and dispute resolution, Market analysis and freight forecasting.

Module 4: Documentation and Legal Compliance: Shipping documentation: bills of lading, manifests, certificates, and letters of credit, Regulatory compliance: customs, environmental, and safety, Insurance and risk management, Legal aspects of shipping contracts, Incident reporting and investigation, Recordkeeping and audit readiness.

Module 5: Financial and Resource Management: Budgeting and cost control in shipping operations, Ship finance and chartering economics, Crew management and labor regulations, Procurement and supply chain coordination, Asset management and lifecycle planning, Performance monitoring and KPIs.

Module 6: Strategic Management and Sustainability: Strategic planning and market positioning, Digitalization and technology in shipping management, Environmental sustainability and green shipping initiatives, Crisis and emergency management, Stakeholder communication and leadership, Capstone project: develop a comprehensive shipping management plan addressing operations, finance, and sustainability.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
