Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Short Film Producer course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills required to independently plan, manage, and produce short films from concept to distribution. The course covers the entire production cycle—idea development, script evaluation, budgeting, fundraising, pre-production planning, crew hiring, location management, production coordination, post-production supervision, and festival/online distribution strategies. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Short Film Production: Role and responsibilities of a short film producer, Understanding the short film format, genres, and storytelling approaches, Key differences between short films and feature productions, Overview of the production pipeline (development to distribution), Importance of budgeting and planning for short films, Case studies of successful short films and festival winners.

Module 2: Script Development and Pre-Production Planning: Sourcing or commissioning a short film script, Script breakdown and identifying production requirements, Creating production schedules and shooting plans, Casting, crew hiring, and location scouting, Preparing production documents (call sheets, agreements, permissions), Legal and copyright considerations for original content.

Module 3: Budgeting and Resource Management: Creating a short film budget and tracking expenses, Managing funding sources (grants, crowdfunding, self-financing), Cost-effective production techniques and resource planning, Handling logistics for equipment, transport, and locations, Managing payroll, contracts, and insurance, Allocating funds across departments effectively.

Module 4: Production Management and On-Set Coordination: Overseeing the shooting schedule and daily operations, Coordinating departments (camera, sound, art, costume, etc.), Ensuring smooth communication among cast and crew, Managing time, resources, and unforeseen challenges on set, Ensuring adherence to safety and legal protocols, Maintaining production reports and documentation.

Module 5: Post-Production Supervision and Final Output: Working with editors, sound designers, and colorists, Overseeing post-production timeline and milestones, Managing revisions, approvals, and feedback cycles, Preparing final deliverables for festivals, OTT, and web platforms, Coordinating subtitles, metadata, and mastering, Ensuring final film meets technical and creative standards.

Module 6: Film Marketing, Distribution, and Portfolio Building: Planning a marketing and promotional strategy for the short film, Submitting to film festivals, contests, and online platforms, Creating press kits, posters, trailers, and social media content, Handling distribution rights and monetization opportunities, Building a producer portfolio with short film case studies, Networking and collaboration for future productions and funding.

  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
