Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/CIT/CSTE/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Software Test Engineer course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to plan, design, execute, and manage software testing activities effectively. The course covers software testing fundamentals, testing life cycle, test case design, functional and non-functional testing, automated testing tools, defect management, and quality assurance best practices.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Software Testing: Introduction to Software Testing, Testing Principles and Objectives, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Overview, Role of Testing in Quality Assurance, Test Levels (Unit, Integration, System, Acceptance), Test Types (Functional vs Non‑Functional)

Module 2: Test Planning and Documentation: Requirements Analysis for Testing, Test Plan Development, Test Case Design and Specification, Traceability Matrix Creation, Test Estimation and Scheduling, Test Documentation Standards and Best Practices

Module 3: Test Design Techniques: Black Box Testing Techniques (Equivalence Partitioning, Boundary Value Analysis), White Box Testing Techniques (Statement, Branch Coverage), Risk‑Based Testing, Exploratory Testing Methods, Usability and Accessibility Testing Basics, Test Data Preparation Strategies

Module 4: Test Execution and Defect Management: Test Environment Setup and Configuration, Test Execution Procedures, Defect Reporting and Tracking (Bug Life Cycle), Severity vs Priority Analysis, Regression Testing Practices, Test Metrics and Result Interpretation

Module 5: Automation Testing: Introduction to Test Automation, Automation Tools and Frameworks (Selenium, etc.), Designing Maintainable Test Scripts, Continuous Testing Integration (CI/CD), Test Automation Reporting and Logging, Challenges and Best Practices in Automation

Module 6: Performance and Specialized Testing: Performance Testing Concepts (Load, Stress, Scalability), Performance Testing Tools (JMeter, etc.), Security Testing Fundamentals, Mobile and API Testing Approaches, Test Environment Virtualization, Quality Metrics and Test Improvement Strategies

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
