Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Sound Designer & Mixer course is designed to equip learners with the creative and technical skills required to produce high-quality audio for film, television, games, animation, and digital media. The course covers the entire sound production workflow, including field recording, Foley, sound effects creation, dialogue editing, ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement), sound design, and multi-track mixing.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Fundamentals of Sound and Audio Perception: Understanding the nature of sound and how it behaves, Basics of sound waves, frequency, amplitude, and phase, Human hearing and psychoacoustics, Mono, stereo, surround, and immersive audio formats, Introduction to the roles of a sound designer and mixer, Overview of sound in film, TV, games, and multimedia.
Module 2: Audio Recording Techniques and Equipment: Microphone types and polar patterns (dynamic, condenser, shotgun, lavalier), Mic placement techniques for different recording environments, Field vs studio recording setups, Using audio interfaces, recorders, and mixers, Setting gain structure and managing levels, Recording dialogue, Foley, ambience, and effects.
Module 3: Sound Design and Editing Techniques: Creating soundscapes and environments using layered sounds, Working with sound libraries and custom recordings, Editing dialogue, effects, and ambiences in DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), Time stretching, pitch shifting, and spectral editing, Designing signature sounds for characters, actions, or UI, Synchronizing sound with visuals (spotting sessions and cue sheets).
Module 4: Mixing and Signal Processing: Basics of mixing: balancing, panning, and dynamics, Applying EQ, compression, reverb, and delay for clarity and space, Noise reduction and audio restoration techniques, Mixing dialogue, music, and effects for clarity and impact, Automation and bus routing in complex mixes, Mixing for film, TV, OTT, and web platforms.
Module 5: Software Tools and Audio Post-Production Workflow: Working with industry-standard software (Pro Tools, Audition, Logic Pro, Reaper), File organization, session management, and backup practices, Syncing audio with video and working with timecode, Preparing tracks for final mixing and mastering, Exporting stems, splits, and final deliverables, Integrating sound with video editors and VFX pipelines.
Module 6: Real-World Projects and Portfolio Development: Planning and executing full audio post for a short scene or clip, Collaborating with directors, editors, and composers, Working on Foley, ADR, and sound replacement, Delivering for multiple formats and broadcast specs, Compiling a sound design and mixing portfolio with breakdowns, Best practices for freelancing and studio-based sound work.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.
- Number of Questions- 30.
- Number of Questions from each module: 5.
- Language: English.
- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
- There is no negative marking in any module.
