Objective: The Certified Spinning/Indoor Cycling Instructor course is designed to equip fitness professionals with the knowledge and practical skills to lead safe, effective, and motivating indoor cycling classes. The program covers cycling biomechanics, bike setup and safety, heart rate training zones, music selection, class structure, coaching techniques, and endurance, strength, and interval training protocols.Β 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Indoor Cycling and Instructor Role: History and evolution of indoor cycling programs, Benefits of spinning for cardiovascular health and endurance, Types of indoor cycling classes: rhythm-based, power-based, endurance rides, Responsibilities and professional conduct of a certified instructor, Class formats for various goals and populations, Understanding the structure and flow of a standard cycling session.

Module 2: Bike Setup, Safety, and Riding Techniques: Proper bike setup: saddle height, handlebar position, fore-aft alignment, Safe mounting, dismounting, and adjustment protocols, Hand positions and proper body alignment on the bike, Riding techniques: seated flat, standing climb, jumps, and sprints, Injury prevention through posture correction and pedal mechanics, Pre-class safety checks and emergency procedures.

Module 3: Music, Rhythm, and Cueing Techniques: Using music BPM to match cadence and intensity zones, Creating playlists for warm-up, intervals, climbs, and cooldowns, Timing choreography and ride rhythm to musical phrasing, Verbal cueing for transitions, motivation, and corrections, Non-verbal cueing and hand signals for effective communication, Encouraging rider engagement and emotional connection through music.

Module 4: Energy Systems, Intensity Zones, and Program Design: Understanding aerobic and anaerobic energy systems in cycling, Heart rate zones and perceived exertion (RPE scale), Designing rides: interval, endurance, strength, recovery, and HIIT formats, Periodization and progression in indoor cycling programs, Adapting rides for beginners, athletes, and special populations, Integrating metrics like cadence, resistance, and power output.

Module 5: Coaching, Motivation, and Group Management: Building instructor presence and confidence on the bike, Motivational strategies and rider connection techniques, Managing mixed fitness levels and pacing variations, Creating inclusive, empowering, and safe class environments, Providing individual feedback in a group setting, Managing class energy, transitions, and participant interaction.

Module 6: Professional Development, Branding, and Business Skills: Building a career as a cycling instructor in gyms or studios, Personal branding, networking, and social media marketing, Managing class schedules, registration, and feedback collection, Liability, insurance, and CPR/First Aid requirements, Continuing education and certifications (e.g., power-based cycling), Launching virtual or private spinning sessions as a business offering.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
