Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/AT/CTA/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Textile Artist/Designer course aims to nurture creativity and technical expertise in textile art and design. Participants will learn various textile techniques including weaving, dyeing, printing, embroidery, and mixed media applications. The course emphasizes developing a strong aesthetic sense, understanding fiber properties, and mastering design principles to create original textile artworks and functional designs. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Textile Art and Design: Overview of Textile Art and Design, History and Evolution of Textile Arts, Role of Textile Artists and Designers, Different Types of Textile Art (Surface Design, Fabric Manipulation, etc.), Key Techniques and Tools in Textile Art, Understanding the Relationship Between Textile Design and Fashion.

Module 2: Fabric and Material Exploration: Types of Fabrics and Their Properties, Selecting Materials for Textile Art, Sustainable and Eco-friendly Fabric Choices, Textile Techniques for Fabric Manipulation (Dyeing, Painting, Stamping), Combining Traditional and Contemporary Materials, Experimenting with Texture and Surface in Textile Art.

Module 3: Techniques in Textile Art and Design:Hand and Machine Embroidery, Weaving and Knitting Techniques, Fabric Printing and Dyeing Methods, Surface Embellishments and Appliqué, Quilting and Fabric Sculpting, Mixed Media in Textile Art.

Module 4: Color Theory and Application in Textile Art: Understanding Color Theory (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary Colors), Color Harmonies and Contrasts in Textile Art, Dyeing and Painting Techniques for Color Application, Creating Mood and Effect through Color, Using Color to Enhance Textile Composition, Colorfastness and Maintenance.

Module 5: Textile Design for Fashion and Home Décor: Designing Textiles for Apparel and Fashion Accessories, Creating Fabrics for Interior Design and Home Décor, Developing Patterns for Specific Product Types, Textile Prints for Seasonal Collections, Incorporating Trends and Client Preferences in Textile Design, Collaborating with Fashion Designers and Interior Decorators.

Module 6: Portfolio Development and Professional Practices: Building a Strong Textile Design Portfolio, Marketing and Selling Textile Art, Professional Practices for Textile Designers (Contracts, Pricing, etc.), Innovation and Experimentation in Textile Art, Participating in Exhibitions and Shows, Networking and Collaboration Opportunities in the Textile Design Industry.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
