Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Textile Defect Analyst course aims to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving defects across the entire textile production process—from fiber to finished fabric. The course covers defect types in spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, and finishing; root cause analysis; defect classification systems (e.g., 4-point system); inspection procedures; and the use of analytical tools such as Pareto analysis and Fishbone diagrams. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Module 2: Textile Defect Classification and Types: Classification of Fabric Defects (Major, Minor, Critical), Surface Defects (Stains, Snags, Pilling, Dirt), Structural Defects (Yarn Breakage, Slubs, Holes, Skewing, Off-grain), Color and Dye Defects (Uneven Dyeing, Fading, Bleeding, Spots), Printing Defects (Misprints, Smudges, Color Variations), Finishing Defects (Shrinkage, Creasing, Glossiness, Softness).

Module 3: Inspection Techniques and Tools for Defect Detection: Visual Inspection Methods (Manual vs. Automated Inspection), Using Tools for Defect Detection (Magnifying Glass, Light Tables, Measuring Devices), Automated Defect Detection Technologies (Machine Vision, Image Processing), Measuring Defects (Size, Location, and Severity), Creating Defect Sampling Plans, Inspecting Fabric in Different Stages of Production.

Module 4: Root Cause Analysis and Defect Classification: Root Cause Analysis Techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram), Identifying Common Causes of Fabric Defects (Material, Machinery, Method, Manpower), Statistical Tools for Defect Analysis (Pareto Chart, Control Charts), Identifying Recurring Defects and Trends, Classifying Defects Based on Severity and Impact, Prioritizing Defect Resolution Actions.

Module 5: Quality Control and Defect Prevention Strategies: Implementing Preventive Measures to Reduce Defects, Process Optimization for Improved Quality, Standard Operating Procedures for Defect Prevention, Role of Defect Analysis in Quality Control, Integration of Defect Analysis into the Continuous Improvement Process, Managing Defects in Large-Scale Production.
