Objective: The Certified Textile Product Designer course is designed to build creative and technical skills for designing innovative and functional textile products. It equips learners to conceptualize, develop, and execute textile designs suited for fashion, home furnishings, and industrial applications using both traditional techniques and modern digital tools. The course fosters expertise in fabric structure, surface ornamentation, color theory, CAD tools, and market-oriented product development.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Textile Product Design: Role of a Textile Product Designer, Overview of Textile Design Industry, Types of Textile Products (Apparel, Home, Technical), Design Thinking in Textiles, Elements and Principles of Design, Trends and Forecasting in Textile Design.

Module 2: Textile Materials and Fabric Structures: Types of Fibres and Yarns, Fabric Formation Methods (Weaving, Knitting, Non-woven), Characteristics of Natural and Synthetic Textiles, Fabric Construction and Texture, Fabric Finishing Techniques, Material Selection for Design Purposes.

Module 3: Surface Ornamentation and Design Techniques: Printing Techniques (Block, Screen, Digital), Dyeing Processes and Color Theory, Embroidery and Appliqué Work, Use of Motifs and Repeat Patterns, Traditional and Contemporary Design Techniques, Fabric Manipulation and Decoration.

Module 4: Design Software and Digital Tools: Introduction to CAD for Textile Design, Using Photoshop and Illustrator for Textiles, Digital Printing and Prototyping, Textile Simulation Software, Developing Digital Mood Boards and Storyboards, Color Matching and Palette Development.

Module 5: Product Development and Sampling: Understanding Market Requirements and Buyer Briefs, Designing for Functionality and Aesthetics, Creating Spec Sheets and Tech Packs, Prototyping and Sample Development, Product Testing and Feedback, Commercial Viability and Costing.

Module 6: Portfolio Development and Professional Practice: Creating a Textile Design Portfolio, Presentation and Documentation Skills, Working with Exporters and Manufacturers, Understanding IP and Copyrights in Design, Freelancing and Entrepreneurship in Textile Design, Case Studies of Successful Designers.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
