Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).
Objective: The Certified Trade Documentation Specialist course is designed to equip participants with the practical skills and regulatory knowledge required to handle documentation in global trade operations. The course covers essential trade documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, letters of credit, bills of lading, airway bills, shipping instructions, and insurance certificates. It also includes INCOTERMS 2020, UCP 600 guidelines, export-import procedures, documentation for customs clearance, and digital documentation trends.
Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:
Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.
Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.
Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.
Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.
Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.
Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.
Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to International Trade and Documentation Basics: Overview of international trade and role of documentation, Key players in global trade: exporter, importer, freight forwarder, carrier, Importance of accurate and timely trade documentation, Understanding INCOTERMS and their impact on documents, Common trade terms and abbreviations used in documentation, Role of a Trade Documentation Specialist in supply chain operations.
Module 2: Core Export Documentation and Procedures: Commercial Invoice and Packing List preparation, Shipping Bill and Bill of Export generation through ICEGATE, Certificate of Origin (Preferential/Non-preferential) and legalisation process, Export Declaration Forms (EDF/SDF), customs clearance documents, Inspection certificates and quality declarations, Pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation cycle.
Module 3: Core Import Documentation and Regulatory Compliance: Proforma Invoice and Purchase Order essentials, Bill of Entry and customs clearance process for imports, Import licenses and regulatory approvals (DGFT, FSSAI, etc.), GATT Declaration, import compliance and restriction documents, Role of customs brokers and CHA in import documentation, Monitoring import documentation under FTP and FEMA guidelines.
Module 4: Shipping and Transport Documentation: Bill of Lading (B/L) – types, format, and functions, Airway Bill (AWB), multimodal transport document, and CMR, Delivery Order, Mate’s Receipt, Shipping Instructions, and Manifest, Container-related documents: stuffing certificate, EIR, packing list, Role of shipping lines and freight forwarders in document flow, Digitalization and tracking of shipping documents.
Module 5: Financial and Insurance Documents in Trade: Letter of Credit (L/C): types, operations, and required documentation, Bill of Exchange, Promissory Note, and Bank Realization Certificate (BRC), Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC), ECGC policies and insurance documents in international trade, Inspection certificates and insurance claims documentation, Handling document discrepancies under L/C terms.
Module 6: Trade Compliance, Digital Platforms, and Best Practices: Compliance with international trade laws and documentation standards, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and use of ICEGATE, DGFT portal, and SWIFT, Documentation under Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and preferential schemes, Best practices for avoiding common errors and delays in documentation, Audit readiness and recordkeeping for trade documentation, Case studies on effective trade documentation handling and automation.
GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:
- Duration- 60 minutes.

- Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
- Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
