Objective: The Certified TV News Anchor course is designed to prepare learners for a professional career in television news broadcasting by developing strong communication, presentation, and journalistic skills. The course covers key aspects such as news reading, voice modulation, on-camera presence, teleprompter reading, script interpretation, live reporting, panel moderation, and interview techniques.Β 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Broadcast Journalism and Anchoring: Role and responsibilities of a TV news anchor, Overview of television newsroom structure and workflow, Types of news formats: bulletins, debates, interviews, live coverage, Difference between anchoring, reporting, and voice-over presentation, Ethics and credibility in journalism, Understanding the impact of news on public opinion.

Module 2: News Writing and Script Preparation: Basics of news writing: accuracy, clarity, brevity, Structure of a news script: headlines, leads, body, and closure, Rewriting agency or reporter copy for telecast, Writing for teleprompter and cue card reading, Coordinating with reporters, producers, and copy editors, Adapting scripts for breaking news and live updates.

Module 3: Voice Training and On-Camera Presence: Voice modulation, clarity, and pronunciation techniques, Breathing exercises and diction improvement, Body language, eye contact, and posture on camera, Handling stress and remaining composed under pressure, Using teleprompter, earpiece, and studio monitors effectively, Developing a confident and engaging screen presence.

Module 4: Live Reporting and Interview Skills: Techniques for live news delivery from studio and field, Conducting live interviews with experts and guests, Managing panel discussions and debates professionally, Handling unexpected situations and breaking news live, Coordinating with production control room during live segments, Developing critical questioning and conversational skills.

Module 5: Newsroom Technology and Production Basics: Understanding studio setup: lights, cameras, microphones, Introduction to teleprompters, audio systems, and OB vans, Basics of video editing, graphics, and studio playback systems, Coordination with technical teams and production crew, Familiarity with news automation and rundown software, Studio etiquette and workflow collaboration.

Module 6: News Presentation Practice and Career Building: Anchoring simulated news bulletins in studio environment, Reviewing performance and improving voice-body sync, Preparing a professional anchoring demo reel, Understanding TRPs, audience metrics, and branding, Career options: national news, regional, business, entertainment, Networking, resume building, and audition preparation for news channels.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
