The course emphasizes the use of both traditional methods and digital tools for weave design, enabling learners to develop innovative fabrics tailored for fashion, technical textiles, and home furnishings. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Weave Design: Overview of Weaving as a Textile Process, History and Evolution of Weave Design, Different Types of Weaving Techniques (Plain, Twill, Satin, etc.), Basic Weaving Structures and Patterns, The Role of Weave Designer in the Textile Industry, Key Applications of Woven Fabrics (Fashion, Upholstery, Technical Textiles).

Module 2: Weaving Techniques and Machinery: Types of Weaving Machines (Shuttle, Shuttleless, Jacquard), Basic Weaving Processes (Shedding, Picking, Beating-up, and Taking-up), Jacquard Weaving and Its Application in Complex Designs, Multi-Color Weaving and Patterning, Dobby Weaving and Its Applications, Advanced Weaving Techniques (Loom Automation, 3D Weaving).

Module 3: Fiber and Yarn Selection for Weaving: Understanding Fiber Properties for Weaving, Yarn Types and Their Suitability for Weaving (Staple vs. Filament, Twist, Ply), Yarn Preparation for Weaving (Warping, Sizing), Impact of Yarn Structure on Weave Design, Choosing the Right Fiber Blend for Desired Properties, Sustainable and Eco-friendly Yarns in Weaving.

Module 4: Weave Design Software and Tools: Introduction to Weave Design Software (TEXCAD, Pointcarre, etc.), Creating and Modifying Weave Patterns Using Software, Using Software for Drafting and Lifting Plans, Color and Texture Simulation in Weave Design, Exporting Weave Designs to Weaving Machines, Understanding File Formats and Data Integration in Weave Design.

Module 5: Weave Patterning and Color Management: Designing Complex Weave Patterns (Jacquard, Dobby, and Multi-thread), Managing Color in Weaving (Color Blends, Dyes), Creating Repeat Patterns and Motifs in Weaving, Texture and Structure in Weave Design, Pattern Grading for Different Fabric Widths, Adjusting Designs for Fabric Weight and Strength.

Module 6: Weaving Production, Quality Control, and Future Trends: Understanding the Weaving Production Process, Managing Weaving Operations and Workflow, Quality Control and Defect Detection in Woven Fabrics, Costing and Sourcing for Weave Production, Innovations in Weaving Technologies (Smart Fabrics, Automated Looms), Future Trends and Sustainable Practices in Weave Design.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
