Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/FS/CWES/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Workplace Ergonomics Specialist course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to evaluate and improve ergonomic conditions in various work environments including offices, manufacturing, healthcare, and construction. The course covers ergonomic risk factors (repetitive motion, poor posture, force, vibration), workstation design, anthropometry, manual handling ergonomics, and use of ergonomic assessment tools (e.g., RULA, REBA). 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Ergonomics and Human Factors: Definition, scope, and importance of ergonomics in the workplace, Principles of human factors engineering, Relationship between ergonomics, productivity, and injury prevention, Categories of ergonomic risk factors: physical, cognitive, organizational, Common work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs), Roles and responsibilities of a Workplace Ergonomics Specialist.

Module 2: Ergonomic Risk Assessment and Evaluation Techniques: Identification of ergonomic hazards in various work environments, Use of ergonomic assessment tools (REBA, RULA, NIOSH Lifting Equation), Task analysis and posture evaluation techniques, Data collection methods: checklists, observations, interviews, Prioritizing risks and determining exposure levels, Documentation and reporting of ergonomic assessments.

Module 3: Workstation Design and Environmental Ergonomics: Design principles for office, industrial, and remote workstations, Chair, desk, and monitor ergonomics for seated work, Layout optimization for standing and assembly line work, Lighting, noise, temperature, and vibration considerations, Computer ergonomics and workstation setup for digital tasks, Tools and technologies for ergonomic workstation evaluation.

Module 4: Ergonomic Interventions and Control Measures: Engineering controls: workstation redesign, tool modification, Administrative controls: job rotation, rest breaks, work pacing, Behavioral strategies: posture training, stretching routines, Selection and use of ergonomic aids and assistive devices, Cost-benefit analysis of ergonomic improvements, Implementation planning and supervision of ergonomic solutions.

Module 5: Ergonomics Training, Communication, and Employee Involvement: Designing and delivering ergonomic training for employees and supervisors, Promoting awareness and early reporting of ergonomic concerns, Developing visual aids, posters, and e-learning modules, Conducting participatory ergonomics programs and workshops, Encouraging feedback and collaborative problem-solving, Role of ergonomics committees and champions.

Module 6: Monitoring, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement: Developing ergonomic policies and integration with EHS programs, Legal and regulatory compliance (OSHA, ISO, national guidelines), Conducting follow-up evaluations and measuring intervention effectiveness, Keeping records of assessments, training, and improvements, Benchmarking and trend analysis for proactive ergonomics, Continuous improvement through audits, KPIs, and case studies.

  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
