Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Textile Finishing Specialist course is designed to provide learners with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the wide range of chemical and mechanical finishing techniques applied in textile processing. The main objective is to enable participants to understand, implement, and supervise finishing treatments that improve fabric aesthetics, feel, and functional properties such as softness, water repellency, wrinkle resistance, flame retardancy, and antimicrobial effects.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Textile Finishing: Definition and importance of textile finishing, Classification of finishes (chemical, mechanical, special), Objectives of finishing in textile processing, Fabric properties modified through finishing, Overview of finishing processes in textile mills, Role of a textile finishing specialist.

Module 2: Mechanical Finishing Techniques: Processes like calendaring, raising, shearing, compacting, and sanforizing, Machines used in mechanical finishing and their working, Effects of mechanical finishes on fabric feel and appearance, Process parameters and adjustments, Common defects and troubleshooting, Safety precautions during mechanical finishing.

Module 3: Chemical Finishing Processes: Types of chemical finishes (softening, stiffening, flame retardant, water repellency), Application methods (padding, spraying, exhaustion), Resin finishing and crease resistance, Formaldehyde-free and eco-friendly finishes, Finishing recipes and chemical compatibility, Post-treatment processes and curing.

Module 4: Functional and Smart Finishes: Introduction to advanced and value-added finishes, Antimicrobial, UV-protection, anti-static, and fragrance finishes, Phase change materials (PCMs) and thermoregulation finishes, Nano-finishing and microencapsulation techniques, Application on various fabric types, Testing and performance evaluation.

Module 5: Machinery, Process Control, and Quality Assurance: Finishing machines (stenters, padders, dryers, curing machines), Process control variables (temperature, time, pressure), Quality checkpoints and testing methods, Common faults and their rectification, Maintenance and calibration of machines, Importance of SOPs and production documentation.

Module 6: Safety, Sustainability, and Industrial Readiness: Safe handling of finishing chemicals and use of PPE, Waste management and effluent treatment in finishing units, Sustainable and green finishing technologies, Certifications and regulatory compliance (REACH, ZDHC, OEKO-TEX), Practical training and live demonstrations, Career pathways and skills required for finishing specialists.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
