Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: This course is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to manage and execute the garment finishing process. It covers various finishing techniques used in apparel manufacturing, including pressing, steam treatments, dyeing, washing, and fabric treatments to enhance the look, feel, and durability of garments. Participants will learn about different finishing equipment, chemicals, and processes used to achieve desired finishes, as well as the impact of these treatments on garment quality and performance. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Garment Finishing: Overview of Garment Finishing Processes, Importance of Garment Finishing in the Apparel Industry, Types of Finishing (Mechanical, Chemical, Thermal, etc.), Role and Responsibilities of a Garment Finishing Specialist, Understanding the Garment Production Workflow, Key Finishing Techniques and Their Applications.

Module 2: Garment Washing and Dyeing: Overview of Garment Washing Techniques (Stone Wash, Enzyme Wash, Acid Wash, etc.), Dyeing Methods in Garment Finishing (Indigo Dyeing, Reactive Dyeing, Pigment Dyeing), Understanding Colorfastness and Fabric Shrinkage, Eco-friendly and Sustainable Washing Techniques, Post-washing Inspection and Quality Control, Managing the Impact of Washing on Fabric Properties.

Module 3: Ironing and Pressing Techniques: Principles of Garment Ironing and Pressing, Types of Pressing Equipment (Steam Presses, Vacuum Tables, Steam Boilers), Ironing Techniques for Different Fabrics, Achieving the Right Finish: Flatness, Sharpness, and Shape Retention, Preventing Common Pressing Defects (Shine Marks, Crease Marks), Ensuring Consistency in Finishing Quality.

Module 4: Garment Starching, Softening, and Sizing: Introduction to Starching and Softening Techniques in Garment Finishing, Understanding Fabric Sizing for Shape and Durability, Managing Starch Solutions and Application Methods, Softening Agents for Fabric Comfort, The Impact of Starching and Softening on Garment Quality, Quality Control for Starching and Softening Processes.

Module 5: Special Garment Finishing Techniques: Overview of Specialized Finishing Techniques (Antibacterial, Water Repellent, Flame Retardant, etc.), Creating Unique Effects (Distressed Look, Vintage, etc.), Garment Embellishments and Their Finishing (Beading, Sequins, Prints), Heat Sealing and Laminating for Garment Protection, Laser Finishing and Digital Techniques, Sustainability in Special Finishing Processes.

Module 6: Quality Control and Troubleshooting in Garment Finishing: Quality Assurance in Garment Finishing, Common Finishing Defects and How to Prevent Them (Fading, Uneven Pressing, Fabric Staining), Testing Garment Quality After Finishing (Dimensional Stability, Surface Quality), Managing Production Schedules for Timely Finishing, Ensuring Finished Garment Durability and Consistency, Continuous Improvement in Garment Finishing Processes.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
