Objective: The Certificate in Building Inspection and Assessment course is designed to provide participants with the comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary to inspect, evaluate, and ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of buildings. The course covers topics such as building codes and regulations, structural integrity, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, safety standards, and environmental considerations.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Building Inspection Fundamentals: Introduction to building inspection industry, Regulatory environment & standards, Role of a building inspector, Types of inspections, Inspection ethics and professionalism, Safety protocols and PPE

Module 2: Codes, Regulations & Legal Framework: National and international building codes overview, Local building regulations and permits, Compliance with planning/zoning laws, Code enforcement procedures, Understanding NBC/IRC/IBC application, Legal responsibilities and liabilities

Module 3: Structural Elements & Materials: Foundations and soil assessment, Footings, slabs and framing, Concrete and reinforcement basics, Wall, floor and roof structures, Material properties (steel, masonry, timber), Tolerances, defects and deterioration

Module 4: Building Systems Inspection: Plumbing and sanitary systems evaluation, Electrical systems fundamentals and safety checks, HVAC systems inspection basics, Fire protection & life safety systems, Accessibility and egress inspection, Energy efficiency and insulation checks

Module 5: Inspection Process & Documentation: Pre‑inspection planning and checklists, Performing onsite inspections, Common defects recognition, Measurement and tolerance standards, Writing clear building inspection reports, Photographic documentation and record keeping

Module 6: Professional Practice & Business Skills: Client interaction and expectations, Estimating time and cost of inspections, Quality assurance best practices, Risk assessment and mitigation, Marketing inspection services, Starting and managing an inspection business

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
