Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Building Renewable Energy Technology course is designed to equip professionals and technicians with the technical skills and theoretical knowledge required to install, operate, and maintain renewable energy systems in building applications. The course focuses on technologies such as solar photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal, small wind turbines, biomass, and geothermal systems. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Renewable Energy in Buildings: Introduction to renewable energy sources, Importance of renewable energy in the built environment, Energy demand in residential and commercial buildings, Comparison of conventional vs. renewable systems, Overview of global and national energy policies, Role and responsibilities of a renewable energy technician.

Module 2: Solar Energy Systems: Photovoltaic (PV) system components and types, Solar thermal systems for water and space heating, Site assessment and solar potential analysis, System sizing and layout planning, Installation techniques and safety procedures, Maintenance and performance monitoring.

Module 3: Wind and Hybrid Energy Systems: Basics of wind energy generation, Small-scale wind turbines for buildings, Site selection and wind resource assessment, Hybrid systems: solar-wind integration, System design and load matching, Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Module 4: Other Renewable Systems and Building Integration: Biomass and biogas systems for buildings, Geothermal and ground-source heat pumps, Rainwater harvesting and integration with renewable systems, Energy storage solutions and battery systems, Smart grid and energy management systems, Retrofitting existing buildings with renewable technologies.

Module 5: Codes, Standards, and System Compliance: Electrical and safety codes for renewable installations, National and international renewable energy standards (IEC, NEC), Net metering and grid interconnection rules, Certification and incentive programs, Inspection and commissioning protocols, Documentation and reporting procedures.

Module 6: Sustainable Practices and Professional Skills: Energy efficiency and building envelope improvement, Green building rating systems (LEED, GRIHA, BREEAM), Environmental impact and carbon footprint reduction, Communication with clients and project teams, Cost estimation and proposal preparation, Career development and ethics in the renewable energy sector.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
