Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Building Waterproofing Techniques course is to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in selecting, applying, and maintaining various waterproofing materials and systems. The course covers surface preparation, waterproofing techniques for roofs, basements, and foundations, types of membranes and coatings, quality control, and safety procedures.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Waterproofing: Basics of waterproofing and its importance, Types of water damage and moisture problems, Overview of waterproofing materials and systems, Roles and responsibilities of a waterproofing technician, Understanding construction drawings related to waterproofing, Safety practices in waterproofing work.

Module 2: Waterproofing Materials and Products: Types of waterproofing membranes (liquid-applied, sheet membranes), Cementitious waterproofing materials, Bituminous coatings and membranes, Polyurethane and epoxy systems, Accessories and primers, Selection criteria based on application and environment.

Module 3: Surface Preparation and Application Techniques: Cleaning and preparing substrates, Repairing cracks and defects, Priming surfaces, Application methods for different waterproofing materials, Thickness and coverage requirements, Quality control during application.

Module 4: Waterproofing Systems for Different Structures: Basement and foundation waterproofing, Roof and terrace waterproofing, Balcony and podium waterproofing, Wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens) waterproofing, Expansion joints and detail waterproofing, Waterproofing for tunnels and underground structures.

Module 5: Testing, Inspection, and Maintenance: Methods for testing waterproofing effectiveness, Visual and non-destructive inspection techniques, Common defects and troubleshooting, Maintenance practices and repair procedures, Documentation and reporting, Ensuring long-term durability.

Module 6: Safety and Environmental Considerations: Health and safety hazards in waterproofing, Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), Handling and storage of hazardous materials, Environmental regulations and waste disposal, Risk assessment and emergency procedures, Sustainable waterproofing practices.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
