Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Carbon Reduction and Management course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to measure, manage, and reduce carbon emissions within organizations and projects. The course covers carbon accounting methodologies, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, energy efficiency strategies, renewable energy integration, carbon offsetting, and regulatory frameworks such as the Paris Agreement and national emission standards.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Carbon Management: Understanding Carbon Footprint and Greenhouse Gases, Global Climate Change and Its Impacts, Carbon Accounting and Reporting Standards, International Climate Agreements (e.g., Paris Agreement), Role of Carbon Reduction Specialists, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Module 2: Carbon Measurement and Assessment: Methods for Measuring Carbon Emissions, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Basics, Tools and Software for Carbon Footprint Calculation, Data Collection and Verification, Emission Factors and Baseline Establishment, Reporting Protocols and Standards (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064).

Module 3: Strategies for Carbon Reduction: Energy Efficiency and Conservation Techniques, Renewable Energy Integration, Sustainable Transportation and Logistics, Waste Management and Circular Economy Practices, Green Building and Sustainable Design, Carbon Offsetting and Sequestration Methods.

Module 4: Implementation and Monitoring: Developing Carbon Reduction Plans and Policies, Stakeholder Engagement and Communication, Monitoring and Verification Processes, Performance Metrics and KPIs, Reporting and Disclosure Requirements, Continuous Improvement and Adaptive Management.

Module 5: Regulatory Frameworks and Incentives: Understanding National and Regional Carbon Regulations, Carbon Trading and Emissions Trading Systems, Tax Incentives and Subsidies for Carbon Reduction, Compliance and Legal Considerations, Voluntary Carbon Markets, Role of Government and Industry Bodies.

Module 6: Advanced Topics and Case Studies: Innovations in Low-Carbon Technologies, Sector-Specific Carbon Reduction Practices (Industry, Agriculture, Transport), Corporate Carbon Neutrality and Net Zero Goals, Case Studies of Successful Carbon Reduction Projects, Challenges and Solutions in Carbon Management, Future Trends and Career Development.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
