Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CCMA/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Concrete Materials and Applications course is to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform concrete testing and quality control in construction. The course covers concrete materials, mix design, sampling, slump testing, compressive strength testing, curing methods, and troubleshooting common issues.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Concrete Technology: Introduction to concrete and its components, Properties of cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures, Types of concrete and their applications, Concrete mix design principles, Role of concrete technician, Safety in concrete operations.

Module 2: Concrete Materials Testing: Testing of cement quality, Aggregate grading and testing, Water quality assessment, Admixture types and effects, Fresh concrete tests (slump, air content, temperature), Hardened concrete tests (compressive strength, flexural strength).

Module 3: Concrete Mix Design and Proportioning: Factors affecting mix design, Methods of mix design (ACI, DOE), Selection of materials for mix, Batch mixing process, Adjusting mix for workability and durability, Documentation of mix design.

Module 4: Concrete Placement and Curing: Site preparation and formwork, Methods of concrete placement (pumping, pouring), Compaction and vibration techniques, Curing methods and duration, Prevention of common defects (cracking, segregation), Safety during placement.

Module 5: Quality Control and Inspection: Inspection of materials before batching, Monitoring mixing and placement, Sampling procedures, Testing fresh and hardened concrete, Documentation and reporting, Identifying and addressing non-conformance.

Module 6: Safety and Environmental Considerations: Hazards in concrete work, Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), Handling and storage of materials, Environmental impact of concrete production, Waste management and recycling, Emergency procedures on site.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
