Participants will learn techniques for budgeting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial reporting specific to construction projects.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Introduction to Construction Cost Control: Role and responsibilities of a cost controller, Overview of construction project lifecycle, Importance of cost control in construction, Key stakeholders in cost management, Cost control objectives and benefits, Trends and best practices in construction cost management

Module 2: Construction Budgeting and Financial Planning: Developing project budgets, Cost breakdown structures (CBS) and work breakdown structures (WBS), Forecasting and cash flow management, Allocation of contingencies and reserves, Budget approval and monitoring, Financial planning for project phases

Module 3: Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Techniques for cost tracking, Earned value management (EVM), Variance analysis and performance metrics, Preparing cost reports for stakeholders, Use of software and tools for cost monitoring, Reporting frequency and accuracy standards

Module 4: Cost Estimation and Forecasting: Reviewing and validating cost estimates, Updating estimates during project execution, Forecasting final project costs, Managing changes and variations, Integration with project schedule, Cost prediction using historical data and benchmarks

Module 5: Risk Management and Cost Optimization: Identifying cost-related risks, Risk assessment and mitigation strategies, Value engineering and cost-saving measures, Change management and impact on costs, Controlling material, labor, and equipment costs, Continuous improvement in cost processes

Module 6: Professional Ethics, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement: Legal and contractual compliance in cost control, Professional ethics and integrity in reporting, Lessons learned and post-project analysis, Implementing process improvements, Training and professional development for cost controllers, Certification standards and continuing education

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
