Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Construction Estimation and Budgeting course is to provide comprehensive training in cost estimation techniques for construction and engineering projects. The course covers quantity takeoff, unit costing, labor and material pricing, equipment costs, overhead, contingencies, and risk factors. Participants will learn to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates using industry-standard methods and software tools.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Cost Estimating: Overview of cost estimating in construction, Role and responsibilities of a cost estimator, Types of estimates (preliminary, detailed, conceptual), Cost estimating process and lifecycle, Understanding construction drawings and specifications, Importance of accuracy and risk in estimates.

Module 2: Quantity Takeoff and Measurement: Methods of quantity takeoff, Reading and interpreting construction plans, Using measurement standards and codes, Tools and software for quantity takeoff, Unit rates and productivity factors, Common errors and quality checks in takeoff.

Module 3: Cost Data and Pricing: Sources of cost data, Material, labor, and equipment cost components, Market analysis and price fluctuations, Overhead, profit, and contingency inclusion, Regional cost variations, Cost databases and software utilization.

Module 4: Estimating Techniques and Methods: Unit price estimating, Assemblies and systems estimating, Parametric and model-based estimating, Historical cost analysis, Risk and uncertainty analysis in estimates, Adjusting estimates for inflation and project conditions.

Module 5: Preparing and Presenting Estimates: Structuring estimate documents, Cost coding and breakdowns, Preparing detailed estimate reports, Use of spreadsheets and estimating software, Presenting estimates to stakeholders, Reviewing and revising estimates.

Module 6: Project Controls and Cost Management: Role of estimating in project budgeting, Cost control and monitoring, Change order pricing and management, Value engineering principles, Collaboration with project teams, Legal and ethical considerations in estimating.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
