Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Fire Alarm & Detection Systems course is designed to train professionals in the installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and detection systems. The course covers the principles of fire detection, types of fire alarm systems, wiring and circuitry, sensor technologies, system programming, and compliance with national and international fire safety standards.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Fire Alarm & Detection Systems: Introduction to Fire Alarm Systems, Principles of Fire Science and Combustion, Types of Fires and Fire Classes, Roles and Responsibilities of a Fire Alarm Technician, Legal and Regulatory Frameworks (NFPA, OSHA, Local), Fire Safety Culture and Awareness.

Module 2: Fire Detection Devices: Smoke Detectors (Ionization, Photoelectric, Combination), Heat Detectors (Rate-of-Rise, Fixed Temperature), Flame Detectors and Gas Detectors, Selection Criteria for Different Environments, Installation Guidelines and Best Practices, Testing and Calibration Procedures.

Module 3: Fire Alarm Control Panels & Systems: Types of Fire Alarm Control Panels (Conventional, Addressable, Smart Panels), System Components and Wiring, Programming and Configuration of Panels, Integration with Building Management Systems, Troubleshooting and Diagnostics, Routine Inspection and Maintenance.

Module 4: Installation & Commissioning: Site Assessment and Planning, Mounting and Positioning of Detectors, Electrical and Communication Connections, Compliance with Regulatory Codes and Standards, System Testing and Commissioning Procedures, Documentation and Handover to Clients.

Module 5: Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identifying Common Faults and Errors, Preventive Maintenance Techniques, Replacement of Faulty Devices and Components, Use of Diagnostic Tools and Software, Record-Keeping and Service Logs, Safety Precautions During Maintenance.

Module 6: Advanced Skills & Professional Development: Integration of Fire Alarm Systems with IoT and Smart Technologies, Use of Digital Tools for Monitoring and Reporting, Advanced Troubleshooting Techniques, Training and Awareness for End-Users, Emerging Trends in Fire Detection Systems, Continuous Learning and Certification Updates.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.

  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
