Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Forest School Learning course is designed to prepare educators to deliver outdoor, nature-based learning experiences that foster holistic development in children. The program covers the philosophy and principles of forest schooling, child development in natural environments, risk management, lesson planning, and outdoor facilitation techniques.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Forest School Philosophy and Principles: History and origins of Forest School, Core principles and values, Benefits of outdoor learning, Child-led learning approaches, Risk-taking and safety in natural settings, Environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Module 2: Planning and Designing Forest School Sessions: Assessing and selecting suitable outdoor sites, Setting learning objectives and outcomes, Designing age-appropriate activities, Incorporating seasonal changes and natural cycles, Managing group sizes and dynamics, Preparing resources and equipment.

Module 3: Supporting Child Development through Outdoor Learning: Physical development in outdoor environments, Cognitive growth and problem-solving, Social and emotional skills in nature, Encouraging creativity and imagination, Language development in outdoor settings, Promoting independence and confidence.

Module 4: Health, Safety, and Risk Management: Understanding risk vs hazard, Conducting risk assessments, Emergency procedures and first aid, Managing allergies and medical conditions outdoors, Child protection and safeguarding, Ensuring safe use of tools and natural materials.

Module 5: Facilitating and Observing Learning in the Forest School: Effective facilitation techniques, Encouraging exploration and inquiry, Observing and documenting learning, Supporting inclusion and diverse needs, Reflective practice and adapting sessions, Engaging families and communities.

Module 6: Professional Practice and Development: Legal and ethical responsibilities, Building partnerships with schools and organizations, Planning for sustainability and environmental impact, Continuing professional development, Creating Forest School policies and documentation, Promoting the Forest School ethos.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

• Duration- 60 minutes.
• Number of Questions- 30.
• Number of Questions from each module: 5.
• Language: English.
• Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
• Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
• There is no negative marking in any module.
