Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Formwork Erection and Construction course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and practical skills to plan, assemble, and dismantle formwork systems safely and efficiently for concrete structures. Participants will learn various formwork types, structural support systems, load calculations, alignment techniques, and finishing considerations.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Introduction to Formwork Systems: Role and responsibilities of a formwork specialist, Importance of formwork in construction, Overview of different formwork types (timber, steel, aluminum, and modular), Components of formwork systems, Key stakeholders in formwork operations, Safety considerations in formwork

Module 2: Materials and Tools for Formwork: Selection of formwork materials based on project requirements, Properties and durability of timber, steel, and aluminum, Common tools and equipment for formwork erection, Maintenance and care of tools, Handling and storage of formwork materials, Cost considerations for formwork materials

Module 3: Formwork Design and Planning: Understanding construction drawings and specifications, Load calculations and structural requirements, Designing formwork for slabs, beams, columns, and walls, Planning erection sequence and assembly, Integration with concrete pouring schedules, Coordination with engineers and project managers

Module 4: Formwork Erection Techniques: Step-by-step erection procedures, Ensuring verticality and alignment, Shoring and bracing techniques, Adjustments for complex structures, Installation of safety supports and scaffolding, Inspection during erection

Module 5: Quality, Safety, and Maintenance: Quality checks for alignment and stability, Inspection before concrete pouring, Handling formwork during curing and removal, Risk assessment and mitigation strategies, Safety protocols and PPE usage, Maintenance and reuse of formwork components

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
