Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CGGI/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Glazing and Glass Installation course is to equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to handle, install, and maintain various types of glass and glazing systems safely and accurately. The course covers glass types, framing systems, cutting and fitting techniques, sealing, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Glazing: Overview of glazing and its applications, Roles and responsibilities of a glazier, Types of glass and glazing materials, Basic glass properties and characteristics, Understanding glazing terminology, Safety practices in glazing work.

Module 2: Glass Types and Selection: Annealed, tempered, laminated, and insulated glass, Specialty glass (tinted, reflective, low-E), Glass thickness and sizes, Selection criteria for different applications, Energy efficiency and building codes, Handling and storage of glass.

Module 3: Glazing Tools and Equipment: Common hand and power tools used in glazing, Glass cutting and shaping tools, Handling and installation equipment, Personal protective equipment (PPE), Tool maintenance and safety, Measuring and layout tools.

Module 4: Installation Techniques: Preparing openings and frames, Installing different types of glass, Use of glazing compounds, sealants, and gaskets, Setting glass securely and safely, Installing window films and coatings, Inspection and quality assurance.

Module 5: Repair and Maintenance: Identifying common glass damages and defects, Techniques for glass replacement and repair, Maintaining seals and weatherproofing, Cleaning and maintenance procedures, Safety considerations during repairs, Documentation of repair work.

Module 6: Safety and Environmental Considerations: Hazards in glazing work, Safe handling and disposal of glass waste, Use of PPE and fall protection, Environmental regulations and recycling, Risk assessment and emergency response, Sustainable glazing practices.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
