Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Masonry and Bricklaying course is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform masonry and bricklaying work in construction projects. Participants will learn techniques for laying bricks, blocks, and stones accurately, interpreting construction drawings, applying mortar and bonding methods, and ensuring structural integrity.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Masonry and Bricklaying: Role and responsibilities of a mason, Importance of masonry in construction, Overview of different types of masonry work, Key materials used in bricklaying, Understanding construction drawings for masonry, Safety and worksite awareness

Module 2: Masonry Materials and Tools: Types of bricks, blocks, stones, and mortar, Properties and selection of masonry materials, Common masonry tools and their uses, Maintenance and care of tools, Material preparation techniques, Storage and handling of masonry materials

Module 3: Bricklaying Techniques: Laying bricks in different bond patterns, Wall construction techniques, Ensuring verticality and alignment, Joints and finishes, Reinforcement methods in masonry, Techniques for openings (doors, windows)

Module 4: Advanced Masonry and Stonework: Decorative masonry and cladding, Stone laying and shaping techniques, Arch and lintel construction, Structural masonry considerations, Repair and restoration of masonry, Quality control and inspection

Module 5: Construction Site Practices and Safety: Worksite layout for masonry operations, Handling heavy materials safely, Use of scaffolding and temporary supports, Personal protective equipment (PPE) management, Hazard identification and risk mitigation, Coordination with other trades on site

Module 6: Professional Development and Project Documentation: Communication with supervisors and project teams, Documentation of work progress, Problem-solving and troubleshooting in masonry work, Ethical practices and professionalism, Continuing education and skills enhancement, Career growth and certification pathways

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
