Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/C/CWMF/V1

Eligibility: 10th (High School) or Equivalent.

Duration: Three Months.

Objective: The Certificate in Welding and Metal Fabrication course is designed to equip professionals with the technical skills and knowledge required to perform welding and fabrication tasks safely and efficiently. Participants will learn about various welding processes (MIG, TIG, SMAW, etc.), metal properties, fabrication techniques, joint preparation, and quality control standards.

Get ready to join the Journey to become a GSDCI Certified Professional  – International Certification and Assessment Body.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Welding and Fabrication: Role and responsibilities of a welding technician, Overview of welding processes and fabrication, Types of metals and alloys, Importance of welding safety and regulations, Industry standards and codes, Trends and innovations in welding technology

Module 2: Welding Equipment and Tools: Types of welding machines (MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW), Selection and use of welding electrodes and filler materials, Welding tools and accessories, Equipment setup and calibration, Routine maintenance of welding machines, Safety procedures for handling welding equipment

Module 3: Welding Techniques and Procedures: Basic welding techniques and joint types, Metal preparation and fit-up, Welding positions and methods, Heat control and distortion prevention, Monitoring weld quality and consistency, Troubleshooting welding defects

Module 4: Fabrication and Assembly Processes: Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, Cutting, bending, and shaping metals, Assembly and alignment of components, Measuring and marking for precision, Welding assemblies according to specifications, Quality inspection of fabricated structures

Module 5: Quality Control and Testing: Non-destructive testing methods (NDT), Destructive testing procedures, Inspection standards and criteria, Identifying and correcting weld defects, Documentation and reporting of inspections, Ensuring compliance with industry codes

Module 6: Safety, Compliance, and Professional Development: Occupational safety procedures and PPE, Fire prevention and hazard management, Compliance with national and international welding standards, Ethical practices in welding and fabrication, Continuous learning and skill enhancement, Career growth and certification pathways

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
