Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Bar Manager course is designed to develop professional competencies required to oversee and manage all aspects of a bar’s operation. The course covers bar planning and layout, staff recruitment and training, inventory control, cost management, licensing and legal compliance, menu planning, and marketing strategies. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Role of a Bar Manager and Bar Operations: Responsibilities and daily tasks of a bar manager, Organizing and supervising bar operations, Coordinating with suppliers and vendors, Managing bar layout and workflow efficiency, Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, Monitoring quality of service and beverages.

Module 2: Beverage Knowledge and Menu Planning: Types and categories of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, Understanding spirits, liqueurs, wines, and beers, Beverage trends and customer preferences, Designing an effective bar menu, Costing and pricing drinks for profitability, Seasonal and signature drink planning.

Module 3: Inventory and Stock Control: Purchasing and receiving procedures, Maintaining accurate inventory records, Stock rotation and waste minimization, Forecasting and restocking methods, Using bar inventory software and tools, Loss prevention and theft control.

Module 4: Staff Recruitment and Training: Hiring skilled bartenders and barbacks, Staff induction and onboarding process, Creating training programs and skill development, Scheduling and shift management, Performance evaluation and motivation techniques, Handling staff conflicts and team building.

Module 5: Customer Service and Sales Enhancement: Creating a guest-focused service culture, Handling complaints and difficult situations, Implementing upselling and cross-selling strategies, Organizing promotions and bar events, Enhancing ambiance and guest experience, Managing loyalty programs and customer feedback.

Module 6: Financial Management and Legal Compliance: Budgeting and financial planning for bar operations, Analyzing sales reports and profitability, Managing payroll and operational expenses, Ensuring legal compliance with liquor laws and licenses, Health, safety, and fire regulations, Implementing sustainability and responsible service practices.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
