Course Name: Certified Cruise Line Hospitality Officer

Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/HT/CCLHO/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 1 year of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Cruise Line Hospitality Officer course is designed to train professionals to efficiently manage and deliver exceptional hospitality services aboard cruise ships. The course covers all aspects of cruise line operations, including guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage management, entertainment, safety, and emergency protocols. Participants learn how to maintain high standards of service quality, ensure passenger satisfaction, and manage staff effectively in a maritime hospitality environment.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Introduction to Cruise Line Hospitality: Overview of Cruise Industry, Role of a Cruise Line Hospitality Officer, Key Terminology and Concepts, Importance of Hospitality in Cruise Operations, Types of Cruise Experiences, Challenges in Cruise Line Hospitality

Module 2: Guest Services and Front Office Operations: Check-In and Check-Out Procedures on Cruise Ships, Concierge and Guest Assistance Services, Managing VIP and Special Guests, Effective Communication and Service Etiquette, Handling Complaints and Conflict Resolution, Ensuring Exceptional Guest Experiences

Module 3: Housekeeping and Cabin Management: Cabin Preparation and Housekeeping Standards, Maintenance of Onboard Facilities, Inventory and Resource Management, Coordination with Other Departments, Health, Safety, and Sanitation Compliance, Quality Control Inspections

Module 4: Food & Beverage and Culinary Operations: Luxury Dining Services on Cruise Ships, Menu Planning and Meal Presentation, Bar and Beverage Management, Event and Banquet Services, Hygiene and Food Safety Standards, Cost Control and Revenue Optimization

Module 5: Entertainment and Onboard Activities Management: Planning and Organizing Guest Entertainment, Coordination of Shows and Events, Recreation and Activity Scheduling, Guest Engagement and Experience Enhancement, Managing Guest Feedback, Monitoring Performance of Activities

Module 6: Professional Practice and Cruise Operations Leadership: Leadership and Team Management Onboard, Ethical Practices and Professional Standards, Strategic Planning for Cruise Hospitality Operations, Continuous Improvement and Innovation, Stakeholder Communication and Reporting, Career Development and Professional Growth

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
