Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/FS/CFSA/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Fire Safety Auditor course is designed to equip participants with the expertise required to evaluate fire safety systems and practices within industrial, commercial, and institutional settings. The course covers fire risk assessment methodologies, auditing procedures, inspection of fire protection systems (active and passive), emergency evacuation planning, electrical fire safety, storage of flammable materials, and safety documentation review. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Fire Safety and Audit Principles: Introduction to fire science and fire behavior, Importance of fire safety audits in risk prevention, Objectives and scope of a fire safety audit, Role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Auditor, Types of fire hazards in various occupancies, Overview of applicable codes and standards (NBC, NFPA, IS, OSHA).

Module 2: Fire Safety Laws, Regulations, and Compliance: National Building Code (Part 4) fire and life safety provisions, Key legal frameworks: Factories Act, Fire Services Act, Electricity Act, IS 2190, IS 2189, Fire safety documentation and statutory requirements, Responsibilities of occupiers and license holders, Consequences of non-compliance and legal implications, Fire license and No Objection Certificate (NOC) process.

Module 3: Fire Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Fire load calculation and risk categorization, Techniques for identifying fire hazards in industrial, commercial, and residential premises, Fire vulnerability analysis and risk rating systems, Use of checklists and scoring systems in audits, Electrical and chemical fire hazard recognition, Integration with HIRA and JSA methods.

Module 4: Fire Protection Systems and Safety Infrastructure Evaluation: Inspection of active fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, alarms, extinguishers), Evaluation of passive fire protection systems (fire-rated doors, walls, compartmentation), Escape route planning, signage, and emergency lighting assessment, Smoke detection and ventilation systems, Fire pump room, diesel tank, and hydrant network checks, Testing of system functionality and maintenance records.

Module 5: Fire Safety Audit Process and Report Writing: Audit planning and pre-audit preparations, Conducting site inspections and stakeholder interviews, Identifying non-conformities and areas of improvement, Preparing comprehensive audit reports with photographic evidence, Recommending corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), Post-audit follow-up and verification of compliance.

Module 6: Emergency Preparedness, Drills, and Continuous Improvement: Assessment of emergency response plans and evacuation procedures, Review of fire drills, training records, and mock drill effectiveness, Fire warden responsibilities and team readiness, First aid and firefighting equipment availability, Case studies on fire incidents and audit outcomes, Promoting continuous improvement through audits and feedback systems.

  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
