Certification Name: Certified Picking & Packing Coordinator

Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/TL/CPPC/V1

Eligibility: 10+2 (higher Secondary) or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Picking & Packing Coordinator course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to oversee the core warehouse functions of picking and packing. The course covers order processing, picking methods (e.g., batch, zone, wave), packing standards, material handling equipment usage, barcode and RFID systems, and integration with warehouse management systems (WMS). Participants will learn best practices in inventory accuracy, product labeling, packaging techniques, and damage prevention. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Picking and Packing Operations: Role of picking and packing in the supply chain and order fulfillment process, Types of picking methods: single order, batch, zone, wave, Importance of packing in product protection, branding, and compliance, Responsibilities and skills of a Picking & Packing Coordinator, Impact of efficient picking and packing on customer satisfaction, Safety, speed, and accuracy considerations in daily operations.

Module 2: Warehouse Layout and Picking Strategies: Warehouse zoning for efficient product access and flow, Slotting techniques for optimal pick path and reduced travel time, Use of bin locations and pick lists for order accuracy, Choosing the right picking strategy based on order profiles, Integration with WMS, barcode scanners, and RFID systems, Managing high-velocity vs low-velocity items for performance.

Module 3: Packing Techniques, Materials, and Labeling: Types of packing materials: corrugated boxes, bubble wrap, foam inserts, Packing methods: fragile items, liquids, perishables, electronics, Labeling requirements for domestic and international shipments, Packing for cost optimization: dimensional weight and carrier rules, Tamper-evident and damage-resistant packaging techniques, Sustainability and eco-friendly packing solutions.

Module 4: Equipment, Tools, and Technology in Order Fulfillment: Use of trolleys, conveyors, handheld scanners, and weighing scales, Integration of WMS and ERP systems with pick-pack workflows, Voice picking and pick-to-light technologies, Automation in packing lines: carton erectors, tapers, labelers, Real-time tracking of picking performance and error rates, Maintenance and safety of packing equipment and tools.

Module 5: Accuracy, Quality Control, and Loss Prevention: Order checking, verification, and quality assurance techniques, Reducing errors: mispicks, over-picks, missing items, Damaged goods prevention and handling procedures, Returns inspection and repacking protocols, Inventory variance management and discrepancy reporting, Customer complaint analysis and root cause correction in packing errors.

Module 6: Team Coordination, KPIs, and Continuous Improvement: Daily team scheduling, task assignments, and workflow coordination, Performance metrics: pick rate, pack rate, accuracy %, order cycle time, Staff training, ergonomics, and motivation for productivity, Continuous improvement through audits, feedback, and kaizen, Health and safety protocols in picking and packing environments, Capstone project: design an optimized picking and packing process for a distribution center.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
