Objective: The Certified Scriptwriter course aims to develop the skills necessary to write compelling, clear, and engaging scripts for various media formats including film, television, web series, radio, and digital content. The course covers story structure, character development, dialogue writing, formatting, pacing, and genre conventions. Participants will learn how to create scripts that effectively communicate narrative, emotion, and message while adapting to different audiences and production needs. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Scriptwriting: Understanding the role of a scriptwriter, Different types of scripts (film, TV, theatre, web), Basics of screenplay format and structure, Elements of storytelling (plot, character, dialogue), Genres and their conventions, Overview of the scriptwriting process.

Module 2: Story Development and Structure: Developing story ideas and concepts, Crafting loglines and story synopses, Three-act structure and alternative narrative frameworks, Building strong beginnings, middles, and endings, Creating plot outlines and beat sheets, Techniques for pacing and tension.

Module 3: Character Creation and Dialogue Writing: Designing multidimensional characters, Character arcs and motivations, Writing natural and purposeful dialogue, Subtext and conflict in conversations, Voice differentiation for characters, Balancing show vs tell in scripts.

Module 4: Formatting and Technical Aspects: Industry-standard script formatting (software tools like Final Draft, Celtx), Writing scene headings, action descriptions, and transitions, Managing script length and page count, Script revisions and version control, Legal basics: copyrights and credits, Script submission protocols.

Module 5: Writing for Different Media: Adapting scripts for film, television, web series, and stage, Understanding medium-specific storytelling techniques, Writing episodic vs standalone scripts, Commercial and promotional scriptwriting, Collaborating with directors, producers, and actors, Adapting existing works into scripts.

Module 6: Script Editing, Feedback, and Career Building: Self-editing and peer review techniques, Incorporating feedback and rewrites, Understanding script coverage and notes, Preparing query letters and pitch materials, Building a professional portfolio, Navigating the industry: agents, contests, and networking.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
