Objective: The Certified Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Specialist course is designed to equip educators, support staff, and professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively support students with diverse learning needs in inclusive and specialized educational settings. The course covers identification and assessment of SEN, individualized education planning (IEP), differentiated instruction, behavioral and social-emotional support strategies, legal frameworks, and collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Special Educational Needs (SEN): Definition and categories of SEN, Legal frameworks and policies related to SEN, Understanding different types of disabilities, Early identification and referral processes, Roles and responsibilities of SEN support specialists, Importance of inclusive education.

Module 2: Assessment and Individualized Planning: Conducting needs assessments and observations, Understanding Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, Setting SMART goals for learners with SEN, Monitoring and documenting progress, Adapting goals based on ongoing assessment.

Module 3: Teaching Strategies and Classroom Support: Differentiated instruction techniques, Use of assistive technologies and tools, Behavior management and positive support strategies, Supporting communication and social skills development, Modifying curriculum and materials, Collaborative teaching and co-teaching models.

Module 4: Supporting Specific Needs: Strategies for supporting learners with learning disabilities, Supporting learners with autism spectrum disorders, Approaches for physical and sensory impairments, Supporting emotional and behavioral disorders, Addressing speech and language difficulties, Supporting gifted learners with SEN.

Module 5: Family and Community Collaboration: Engaging families in the educational process, Culturally sensitive communication with families, Linking with community resources and services, Advocacy for learners and families, Building partnerships for transition planning, Supporting family well-being and resilience.

Module 6: Professional Development and Ethical Practice: Ongoing training and skill development, Ethical considerations and confidentiality, Reflective practice and self-evaluation, Working effectively within multidisciplinary teams, Managing stress and self-care, Promoting inclusive values and attitudes.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
