Global Occupational Skill Standard – GOSS ID: GOSS/FS/CVCS/V1

Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Vibration Control Specialist course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills required to monitor, assess, and mitigate unwanted mechanical vibrations in various industrial environments. The course covers vibration theory, sources and types of vibration, measurement techniques using accelerometers and vibration analyzers, and data interpretation through frequency and time-domain analysis. Participants will learn root cause analysis, balancing and alignment techniques, isolation methods, damping solutions, and condition monitoring strategies. 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Vibration and Its Effects: Basics of vibration theory and terminology, Types of vibration (free, forced, torsional), Sources and causes of vibration in machinery and structures, Effects of vibration on equipment and human health, Vibration measurement units and standards, Introduction to vibration control objectives.

Module 2: Vibration Measurement and Instrumentation: Types of vibration sensors and transducers (accelerometers, velocity sensors), Installation and calibration of vibration measurement devices, Data acquisition systems and signal processing, Vibration data analysis techniques (time and frequency domain), Use of portable and online vibration monitoring tools, Interpretation of vibration data for diagnostics.

Module 3: Vibration Analysis and Diagnostics: Vibration signature analysis and fault diagnosis, Balancing and alignment principles, Identification of common machinery faults (bearing defects, imbalance, misalignment), Modal analysis and resonance detection, Trending and baseline establishment, Use of software tools for vibration analysis.

Module 4: Vibration Control Techniques: Isolation methods and vibration dampers, Structural modifications for vibration reduction, Balancing and alignment corrections, Use of absorbers and tuners, Active vs. passive vibration control systems, Design considerations for vibration control solutions.

Module 5: Health, Safety, and Environmental Impacts: Human exposure limits and regulatory standards for vibration, Effects of whole-body and hand-arm vibration, Personal protective equipment and workplace ergonomics, Environmental vibration monitoring and compliance, Noise and vibration relationship, Risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Module 6: Implementation, Reporting, and Maintenance: Developing vibration control plans and procedures, Conducting vibration audits and inspections, Reporting findings and recommending corrective actions, Maintenance scheduling based on vibration data, Training and communication with stakeholders, Continuous improvement and emerging technologies in vibration control.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
