Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Weaving Technology Specialist course is designed to provide comprehensive training in the principles and practices of weaving technology. The primary objective is to equip learners with the skills required to manage and optimize weaving operations, understand fabric structures, and work with modern looms and design systems in textile manufacturing.

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Weaving Technology: Introduction to weaving and its importance in textiles, Comparison between weaving and other fabric formation methods, Basic elements of weaving (warp, weft, selvedge), Weave structures and classifications (plain, twill, satin), Yarn preparation processes (winding, warping, sizing), Role of a weaving technologist in the industry.

Module 2: Weaving Looms and Mechanisms: Types of looms (conventional, automatic, shuttleless), Primary motions (shedding, picking, beating-up), Secondary motions (take-up and let-off), Shedding mechanisms (cam, dobby, jacquard), Picking and weft insertion systems (rapier, air-jet, water-jet), Loom settings, timing, and productivity calculations.

Module 3: Fabric Design and Weave Development: Basic and complex weave designs, Drafting, lifting plans, and peg plans, Fabric appearance and texture control, Designing using CAD software for weaving, Sampling techniques and fabric analysis, Conversion of design into loom-ready format.

Module 4: Loom Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Routine maintenance of mechanical and electronic looms, Identification of loom-related defects and causes, Lubrication, cleaning, and part replacements, Troubleshooting warp breaks, weft breaks, and shuttle-related issues, Downtime analysis and preventive actions, Safety procedures in loom operation.

Module 5: Quality Control and Testing in Weaving: Common fabric defects (float, reed mark, double pick, end out), Fabric inspection and grading systems, Quality testing (tensile strength, GSM, count, cover factor), In-process checks and standard tolerances, Documentation and quality reporting, Use of modern inspection and monitoring devices.

Module 6: Modern Trends, Sustainability, and Industry Readiness: Advanced weaving technologies and automation, Smart fabrics and technical textiles from weaving, Sustainable yarns and eco-efficient processes, Industry 4.0 applications in weaving mills, Practical training and real-world case studies, Career scope and roles in the weaving sector.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
