Eligibility: Graduation or Equivalent or minimum 2 years of relevant experience (experience-based learners can directly enroll and certify).

Objective: The Certified Yarn Testing Specialist course aims to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills to conduct comprehensive tests on yarns used in textile manufacturing. The course covers yarn properties such as strength, twist, evenness, count, hairiness, and elongation, as well as testing methods according to industry standards (ISO, ASTM, AATCC). 

Certification: Within 5 days after Completion of Online Assessment.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of online assessment, you can download your Certificate Immediately.

Module 1: Introduction to Yarn Testing: Overview of Yarn Testing, Importance of Yarn Testing in the Textile Industry, Types of Yarn (Spun, Filament, Staple, Blended), Role and Responsibilities of a Yarn Testing Specialist, Key Testing Standards and Guidelines (ISO, ASTM, DIN), Common Yarn Defects and Their Impact on Fabric Quality.

Module 2: Yarn Physical Properties Testing: Measuring Yarn Count (Linear Density, Denier, Cotton Count), Testing for Yarn Strength (Tensile Strength, Breaking Elongation), Determining Yarn Twist and Twist Multiplication, Evaluating Yarn Uniformity (Evenness, Thickness, and Distribution), Methods for Testing Yarn Bulk and Hairiness, Testing for Yarn Smoothness and Surface Quality.

Module 3: Yarn Performance and Durability Testing: Testing Yarn for Abrasion Resistance and Wear, Measuring Yarn Shrinkage and Relaxation, Testing for Pilling Resistance, Evaluating Yarn Resistance to Heat and Light, Assessing Yarn Dimensional Stability, Performance Testing for Yarn in Weaving, Knitting, and Dyeing.

Module 4: Chemical Testing for Yarn: Testing for Yarn Composition and Fiber Content, Chemical Testing for Residues (Formaldehyde, Heavy Metals, Pesticides), Assessing Yarn for Dyeability and Color Fastness, Testing Yarn for Reaction to Chemicals (Acid, Alkali), Ensuring Compliance with Environmental Standards (OEKO-TEX, REACH), Sustainable Practices in Yarn Testing.

Module 5: Yarn Testing Equipment and Methodologies: Introduction to Yarn Testing Instruments (Tensile Testing Machine, Yarn Evenness Tester, Twist Tester), Calibration and Maintenance of Testing Equipment, Standardized Testing Procedures (ASTM D2256, ISO 2062), Sample Preparation for Yarn Testing, Analyzing and Interpreting Yarn Test Results, Troubleshooting Common Testing Errors.
