Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Construction Claims Analysis and Management course is to equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed to identify, document, and evaluate construction claims related to delays, cost overruns, scope changes, and contractual disputes. The course covers contract interpretation, claim preparation, forensic analysis, negotiation strategies, and dispute resolution techniques.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, You will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card(Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Assessment Modules:

Module 1: Introduction to Construction Claims: Overview of construction claims and disputes, Types of construction claims (delay, disruption, acceleration), Causes and common issues leading to claims, Roles and responsibilities of a claims analyst, Legal framework and contract basics, Importance of documentation and record keeping.

Module 2: Contractual Principles and Clauses: Understanding construction contract types, Key contract clauses related to claims (force majeure, changes, extensions), Conditions precedent and notice requirements, Interpretation of contract terms, Claims entitlement and evaluation criteria, Contract administration and compliance.

Module 3: Claims Identification and Notification: Identifying potential claims during project execution, Early warning systems and risk management, Claim notification procedures and timelines, Documentation gathering and preservation, Communication with stakeholders, Role of the claims analyst in claim initiation.

Module 4: Claims Analysis and Quantification; Techniques for delay analysis (critical path method, time impact analysis), Cost impact assessment methods, Quantum calculation and support, Use of software tools for claims analysis, Preparing claim schedules and narratives, Assessing concurrent delays and responsibility.

Module 5: Claims Negotiation and Resolution; Negotiation strategies and dispute resolution methods, Mediation, arbitration, and litigation overview, Preparing settlement proposals, Role of expert witnesses, Managing claims in multi-party projects, Documentation and reporting for dispute resolution.

Module 6: Claims Management and Reporting: Developing claims management plans, Monitoring and tracking claims progress, Reporting to project management and clients, Lessons learned and risk mitigation for future projects, Legal and ethical considerations, Continuous improvement in claims handling processes.

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
