Objective: The Certificate in Construction Cost Management course is designed to equip professionals with the skills and knowledge to manage and control costs throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. Participants will learn cost estimation, budgeting, cost control techniques, financial reporting, value engineering, risk analysis, and integration with project management systems.

Steps to become a GSDCI Certified Professional:

Step 1: Select your certification you want to pursue.

Step 2: Click on get certified tab, new pop up window will open.

Step 3: Click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to billing details page.

Step 4: Fill your details and click on pay certification fee, you will be redirected to payment gateway, pay fee by any available options like Card (Debit/Credit), Wallet, Paytm, Net banking, UPI and Google pay.

Step 5: You will get Login Credentials of Online E-Books and Online assessment link on your email id, within 48 hrs of payment.

Step 6: After completion of the online assessment, the soft copy of your certificate will be sent to your registered email ID within 5 days.

Module 1: Introduction to Construction Cost Management: Role and responsibilities of a construction cost manager, Overview of construction cost management processes, Importance of cost control in construction projects, Key stakeholders and coordination, Trends and innovations in construction cost management, Regulatory and contractual considerations

Module 2: Cost Estimation Fundamentals: Types of cost estimates (preliminary, detailed, conceptual), Methods of cost estimation (unit rate, square footage, parametric), Material and labor cost analysis, Equipment and overhead cost considerations, Contingency and risk allowances, Cost estimation documentation and reporting

Module 3: Budgeting and Financial Planning: Developing project budgets, Cash flow forecasting and management, Resource allocation and cost control, Integration with project scheduling, Managing project financial risks, Monitoring and updating budgets throughout the project lifecycle

Module 4: Cost Monitoring and Control: Tracking actual costs against budget, Variance analysis and reporting, Identifying cost overruns and corrective actions, Implementing cost control measures, Change order and claims management, Performance measurement and KPI analysis

Module 5: Procurement and Contract Cost Management: Cost considerations in procurement and subcontracting, Contract pricing strategies, Managing supplier and subcontractor costs, Cost compliance and audit, Negotiation and cost optimization techniques, Documentation and reporting for contract costs

Module 6: Leadership, Communication, and Professional Development: Leading cost management teams, Effective communication with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, Problem-solving and decision-making in cost management, Ethical practices and professional responsibility, Continuing education and skill enhancement, Career growth and certification pathways

GSDCI Online Assessment Detail:

  • Duration- 60 minutes.
  • Number of Questions- 30.
  • Number of Questions from each module: 5.
  • Language: English.
  • Exam Type: Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 50%.
  • There is no negative marking in any module.
